WHY PIONEER

To be a pioneer is to move before there is a blueprint.

PIONEER represents Titi LoKei’s journey as a Nigerian-American woman building an artistic identity across cultures, genres and industries.

The project honors where she comes from while refusing to be limited by expectations of what African music  or an African artist should sound like.

African rhythms, contemporary production, hip-hop influence, melody and storytelling coexist throughout the album, reflecting the experience of a generation whose identity is both deeply rooted and unmistakably global.

PIONEER is not about choosing between worlds.

It is about creating a world of your own.
